Please visit our New Horizons Program website for more details

Our New Horizons program is a signature education and empowerment program that enrolls around 25 – 35 students for a 180 day (August to June) school year.  The education and classes we offer adheres to the North Carolina Standard Guide of Study and our students receive high school diplomas upon successful completion of the program. Most of the students we take in are unsure of themselves, have no profound sense of direction and have very limited possibilities for success and it is our job to ensure that after attending our signature education program, these students are well-equipped to attend a four year institution or prepared to walk in to the work force.
Application Process

The Application Process

Most of our students are referrals from the Juvenile Court, Group Homes, the Department of Social Services, Youth Agencies and Durham Technical College. Once a student is referred from any of these organizations, we get the student’s parents or legal guardians involved and they will be responsible for coming to us and setting up an appointment.

We also take in students without referrals. If you are a high school drop-out interested in having a second chance to make things right and complete your high school education, just contact us or come visit us at our main offices.  Once a student is accepted and enrolled and extends as long as it takes for the student to get his/her high school diploma. We don’t accept students who are under 16 years of age unless under extenuating circumstances like the student having been suspended from the Public School System for 365 days or more. So if you know high school dropouts in your neighborhood, tell them about our program and get them involved and back to school.
